We are delighted to see strong interest from across Vietnam in the Học Mãi Fellowship 2026. To support applicants, the Hoc Mai Viet Nam Club has compiled answers to some of the most frequently asked questions received in recent weeks. These responses are based on the most recent Fellowship experience in 2025.Please note that official details for the 2026 round are still pending confirmation from the Học Mãi Scholarship Committee and may be subject to change depending on available funding, host hospital arrangements, and mentor availability.

1. Fellowship Timeline and Location

Question: When will the Học Mãi Fellowship 2026 take place? Where will the activities be held in Australia?

Answer: The exact dates for 2026 have not yet been officially announced. However, in 2025, the Fellowship was held from 27 April to 6 June at Royal North Shore Hospital (RNSH), Sydney, NSW, Australia – a leading tertiary hospital and academic center in New South Wales.

2. Interview Format and Location

Question: Will interviews be conducted online or in person? What is the location for applicants in Northern Vietnam?

Answer: The 2026 interview arrangements have not yet been confirmed. In 2025:

Applicants from Northern Vietnam attended in-person interviews in Hanoi.
Applicants from more distant locations such as Hue were allowed to attend interviews via Zoom.

We will provide updates as soon as more information becomes available from the Scholarship Committee.

3. Reference Requirements

Question: What exactly is required for the “two references” section in the application?

Answer: Applicants must submit two full letters of recommendation written by professional referees. Each letter should include:

Referee’s full name
Title and current position
Institutional affiliation
Contact details (email and phone number)

These letters are essential to demonstrate the applicant’s clinical experience, academic commitment, and suitability for the Fellowship.

4. CV and Interview Preparation

Question: Are there any resources to help me prepare a strong CV and practice for the interview?

Answer: Yes. The Hoc Mai Viet Nam Club is working with former Fellows to develop and share:

Practical tips on writing a competitive CV
Common interview questions and suggested approaches

These resources will be made available on our official website and shared during the Pre-Fellowship Workshop, expected to be held in Hanoi around September–October 2025.
